In Sikkim , the relief and rescue work has gained momentum as teams of Army, NDRF,ITBP and State Police succeeded in reaching the inaccessible areas in the last two days. While most of them were airdropped by the choppers, many of these teams trekked miles along the hill-slopes to reach the affected people.AIR Gangtok correspondent reports that Army and Pawan Hans helicopters evacuated some one hundred thirty persons ,stranded at the places like Lachen ,Lachung,Chungthang and Dzongu , to Mangan and Gangtok.On the other hand, with the Human Resource Development department and Health Department headquarter buildings in Gangtok too being declared unsafe, the offices were shifted to safer places on Tuesday.
