In Bihar, relief and rescue operation is in full swing in cyclone affected districts of the state. Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Thursday made an aerial survey of the affected areas and reviewed the ongoing relief operations. AIR Patna correspondent reports that the state government has submitted a report to centre about loss of life and property in the affected areas. The district administration has started distributing relief material and ex-gratia payment to the next of the deceased At least 97 persons were killed and over two hundred injured in cyclone in eastern districts of Purnia , Araria,Supaul , Katihar and Kishanganj. Maximum casualities have been reported from Araria and Purnia. Ten thousand cattleheads were killed during cyclone . Over one lakhs thatched houses were destroyed in this disaster. One quintal food grains are being given to each of the affected family. Polythene sheets are also given to victims for temporary shelter. The state government has announced to give one lakh fifty thousand rupees to the next of the kin of the deceased. Indira Awaas will be given to those persons who have been rendered homeless due to cyclone.
