In a major reprieve to the Nitish Kumar Government in Bihar, Patna High Court has stayed a CBI probe into alleged financial irregularities involving Rs 11,412 crore. Acting on a PIL, a Division Bench of the court had ordered a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities last Thursday. Petitioner filed the PIL on the basis of a report by the Accountant General of Bihar highlighting financial irregularities in various funds meant for the development in the state during 2002-2008.The AG in his report pointed out that detailed bills to the tune of Rs 1,100 crore are not available and the state government could not provide the same to the AG for calculation and assessment.
