Relief and rescue operations continue in Leh

In Leh, different government agencies are continuing relief and rescue operations in the areas devastated by cloud burst. Indian Air Force has air lifted, nine foreigners and six Indians from Rumptsa area. Army sources said the team of stranded tourists were airlifted to Upshki and were taken to Leh by road from there.AIR correspondent reports that IAF airlifted vital equipment, primarily bailey bridges, from Pathankote in a bid to speed up rebuilding of bridges and restoration of road networks by Border Road Organisation in flood-battered Leh. Menawhile, death toll due to flash floods has mounted to 176. Pakistan handed over the unidentified body of a flash flood victim to Indian authorities.
