Relief and rescue operation in full swing in cyclone affected districts of Bihar

In Bihar, relief and rescue operation is in full swing in cyclone affected districts of the state. <br/><br/>The Centre has sought a report from the state government about loss of life and property in the affected areas. <br/><br/>AIR Patna correspondent reports that at least 97 persons were killed and over two hundred injured in cyclone in eastern districts of Purnia , Araria,Supaul , Katihar and Kishanganj. <br/><br/>Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi is making aerial survey of the affected areas today and supervising the relief operations. <br/><br/>One quintal food grains are given to each of the affected family. Polythene sheets are also given to victims for temporary shelter. <br/><br/>The local authorities are making arrangements for the last rites of the deceased. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has already announced to give one lakh fifty thousand rupees to the next of the kin of the deceased.<br/><br/>Mr. Kumar said that Indira Awaas will be given to those persons who have been rendered homeless due to cyclone. <br/>
