Relief and rescue operation in full swing in cyclone affected districts of Bihar and West Bengal

In Bihar, relief and rescue operation is in full swing in cyclone affected districts of the state. <br/>Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi made an aerial survey of the affected areas and reviewed the ongoing relief operations. <br/><br/>At least 97 persons were killed and over two hundred injured in cyclone in eastern districts of Purnia, Araria, Supaul, Katihar and Kishanganj. <br/><br/>In Assam, State Government has announced an ex-gratia of three lakh rupees to the families of those killed in the cyclonic storm that lashed several parts of the Dhubri district.<br/><br/>In West Bengal , the death toll in the cyclone hit district of Northern Dinajpore has reisen to 43.<br/><br/>Prime Minister has sanctioned ex-gratia relief from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to the tune of 1 lakh Rupees, each to the next of kin of the deceased.<br/>
