Reliance Gas price issue: Kejriwal seeks clarification from Modi

Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal has sought clarification from BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Reliance gas pricing issue.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi today, Mr Kejriwal said that he has written a letter to Mr Modi on the issue. He also informed that he will write a similar letter to Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi to clarify his stand on the matter of gas pricing.

He demanded that the BJP and the Congress should reveal their relation with Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani. He alleged that Ambani misused the Central government to manipulate the gas pricing. Mr Kejriwal said if the prices of gas are to be hiked from 1st of April, then it will lead to rise in inflation.

The government is to hike the price of natural gas from the current 4.2 to 8.4 dollar per million British thermal unit. Mr Kejriwal said after the proposed hike, there will be a crisis in the country with Mr Ambani's company deriving undue additional benefit of 54 thousand crore rupees.

The AAP convenor alleged, top leaders from the BJP and the Congress are opposed to the FIR by the Delhi's Anti Corruption Branch against Mr Ambani.

Replying to a query, Mr Kejriwal demanded immediate dissolution of the Delhi Assembly and said election should take place in the city.
