Relaxation in travelling norms in Ladakh

In a major move to boost tourism in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir, the Centre has relaxed the Protected Area Permit Regime enabling foreign tourists to visit Turtuk village in Nubra valley in Leh district situated on the famous Silk Route. Jammu and Kashmir Tourism and Culture Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora said that this decision will put Nubra valley prominently on the world tourism map. He said now tourists would able to travel along the banks of the Pangong Lake, right up to the villages of Man and Merak.<br/>
