Registration of pilgrims for annual Amarnath yatra in Jammu and Kashmir which would commence from July one will start from June 5 and Registration will be done through 121 designated branches of Jammu and Kashmir bank across the country.<br/><br/>This was stated by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) R K Goyal today. He said the yatra will commence from both traditional Pahalgam and Baltal routes as per scheduled on July one. <br/><br/>The registration of pilgrims from the Pahalgam route will not be allowed after August 22 because of the longer distance and travel time, while registration in respect of the Baltal route, which is much shorter, will close on August 23. <br/><br/>The registration will be done on "First-come-first-Serve basis". The CEO appealed to all those who intend to undertake the pilgrimage to complete the necessary formalities for registration and timely obtain a yatra permit, in their own interest, so that no inconvenience is faced by any yatri with regard to the date of Yatra and the route to be followed. He said this year all the labourers, pony and pithuwallahs are also being provided photo identity cards, for effective security.<br/><br/>This year the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board is providing an accidental Insurance cover of Rupees one lakh to all registered yatries who possess valid yatra permits.
