The Haryana Health Department has seized 114 ultrasound machines and suspended or cancelled registration of 245 ultrasound centres for violating the Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PNDT) Act. Health Minister Geeta Bhukal said at chandigarh that the State Government is committed to curb female foeticide in the state. She said that state government had taken legal action against those who are involved in female foetecide andsex determination. So far 14 people including doctors had been convicted under the PNDT Act and two persons had been convicted under MTP Act.
