Regional passport offices to remain open on Saturday

Regional passport offices, including Passport Seva Kendras, PSKs, at several places across the country, will remain open on Saturday as part of the government's passport mela programme to meet the high demand for passport services. The places are Jaipur, Kolkata, Patna, Cochin, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram and Ambala.

An External Affairs Ministry release says, an applicant can fill up a new application form available on the website – www.passportindia.gov.in – for passport services. He or she can visit the concerned PSK between 10 AM and 2 PM on that day along with a self-attested copy of each of the requisite documents. The applicant should also carry original documents for verification and is not required to take online appointment for submitting application during the passport mela. Applications will be accepted only in person and not through any third party. The applications for all passport related services other than Tatkaal, will be accepted during the passport mela.
