<span style="color: #222222;">The Regional Met department has predicted the advancement of North East monsoons with moderate to light showers in many parts of the State. Southern districts of Tuticorin , Tirunelveli and Ramananthapuram witnessed intermittent showers. Maximum rainfall of 16 cm has been witnessed in Kulasekarapattinam, Tuticorin district in the past 24 hours. At Least four places in Tirunelveli and Tuticorin have recorded five to ten cms rainfall. The weather department has also predicted moderate rainfall in Chennai, Chengalpet, Villupuram districts for the next 24 hours today.Light showers are likely in some parts of Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Nagapattinam and Ramanathapuram districts.</span><br />
