The Sahara Group chief Subrata Roy has to appear before the Supreme Court today in connection with the failure of his companies to refund 20,000 crore rupees to investors.The apex Court yesterday refused his plea of seeking exemption from personal appearance before it.Senior advocate Ram Jethmalani, appearing for Roy, submitted that he would make the payment and he may be distanced with personal appearance in the court. However, A bench comprising Justices K S Radhakrishnan and J S Khehar said Roy has not complied with its order and that is why he was summoned.The bench allowed SEBI to go ahead with the sale of properties of the group whose sale deeds were handed over to the market regulator to recover 20,000 crore rupees
