Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh has stressed the need for continuing reforms and strengthening regional cooperation for the robust growth of the aviation sector in the country. Speaking after opening the 4th edition of India Aviation today, he said focus will remain on enhancing regional and remote area connectivity. Stating that the Airports Authority of India has already identified 50 places to develop low-cost airports, the minister has asked the industry to play key role in developing aviation infrastructure in those areas.He also asked the state governments to adopt innovative practices to infuse investments into the aviation infrastructure. The Government of India jointly with the FICCI has organised the 5-day Aviation show. Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan has asked the business community to utilize the huge market, especially in passenger and cargo traffic, aircraft operations maintenance areas. Secretary Civil Aviation Ashok Lavasa said India will become one of top three aviation markets by 2020 as the sector is presently growing at more than 10 per cent. He said remote area connectivity remained as one of the top priorities of the government.The first ever deal in the Aviation Show 2014 was signed between Boeing and Spice worth 26 thousand crore on the occasion. Boeing will supply 42 aircarft of 737 MAX. India Post has released a special cover on the 4th edition of the Aviation Show.Over 250 exhibitors from all over the world will take part and about 20 types of aircraft including business jets, commercial aircraft, cargo aircraft, motor gliders, helicopters and aircraft machinery have been kept on display. The largest aircraft Airbus A-380 and the latest aircraft Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be on display for the first three days.Indian Exhibitors like HAL, Pawan Hans, Religare Aviation, Turbo Aviation, Vega aviation besides several International players including Airbus, Beechcraft, Rolls Royce, Dassault, Embraer, Gulfstream, Piaggio and Russian Helicopters and Wesco have displayed their aviation products. Besides, breathtaking aerobics have been displayed by London-based agencies.
