Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal has said, reducing massive food waste is India's priority. Mrs Badal said this while seeking American investment and technology in this regard. <br/><br/>She is currently on a week-long visit to the United States to interact with the agriculture industry and food processing companies in Chicago, Washington and New York. <br/><br/>Speaking at an industry round table organised by US India Strategic Partnership Forum, the Minister said India, which is one of the world's largest producers of food, is also the largest producer of milk and second largest producer of fruits and vegetables. She said, India is, however, currently only processing 10 per cent of its food, resulting in enormous food waste.<br/><br/>Mrs Badal's visit comes ahead of the 3-day World Food India Show to be held in New Delhi from the 3rd of next month.
