Reddy rules out hike in diesel prices

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas S Jaipal Reddy has ruled out increase in the price of petrol and diesel despite the hike in the international crude rates. He was talking to reporters at Panipat after dedicating to the nation India's largest Naphtha Cracker Plant at Indian Oil's Panipat Refinery Complex.Reddy said the state fuel retailers will end the fiscal with a revenue loss of 80,000 crore rupees on selling diesel, kerosene oil and LPG below cost. The Government will help in meeting this loss by way of doling out cash to a large extent. One third of the amount can be contributed by upstream companies like ONGC. The rest will be absolved by oil marketing companies.
