The Red Ribbon Express conceptualized by Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, National Aids Control Society and Nehru Yuva Kendras reached Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station today after covering 22 states, 152 stations in 141 districts of the country with 86 new stoppages, not covered in the first phase. The Red Ribbon has successfully created awareness among 80 lakh people of India even in far flung areas with the support of outreach activities through IEC Vans. Delhi Health Minister Kiran Walia today inaugarated the Exhibition on Aids Awareness at the railway station premises. Apprerciating the intiative she said that it had created awareness on Aids among masses throughout the country and efforts would be made to repeat this activity. A number of NGO`s besides NACO and Delhi State Aids Control Society have displayed their exhibitions at the platform for the General Public. More than one thousand people today visited the exhibition site. Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Gulam Nabi Azad would preside over the concluding ceremony of exhibition on first of December.
