President Donald Trump has said the recovery of the Canadian-American couple from Taliban captivity by Pakistan was a positive moment for US relations with Pakistan. <br/><br/>In a White House statement Trump said that Pakistan government's cooperation is a sign that it is honouring America's wishes to do more to provide security in the region.<br/><br/>Earlier, the Pakistan army had announced that it had recovered safe and sound a family of foreign hostages from the Taliban captivity after it received and acted on intelligence shared by the United States. <br/><br/>Trump said that the family had been held hostage by the Haqqani network, a terrorist organisation with ties to the Taliban.
