Recovery mode, Sensex rises 92 points

Recovering from early losses, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 92 points, or 0.6 per cent, to 15,963 in afternoon trade, a short while ago.Earlier in the morning, however, the Sensex had lost 61 points, or 0.4 per cent, to 15,809 in the first few minutes of trade, on domestic growth concerns, and weak overseas markets. The 30-share Sensex has already lost over 1,000 points in the past three trading sessions.Other Asian markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan were down by between 0.5 per cent and 1.3 per cent, today, on worries about possible sovereign ratings downgrades in the euro zone. Over in the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average had ended 1.3 per cent lower, overnight.
