Over 1, 000 athletes from 45 countries are scheduled to take part in the 22nd edition of the Asian Athletics Championships to be held in Bhubaneswar from the 6th of next month. This makes it the largest in the history of the event. According to a statement from the orgainsers, it is double the number of athletes from 40 nations that took part in the last edition held in Wuhan, China two years ago. The multi-purpose Kalinga Stadium has been transformed into a world-class athletics track for the event. This stadium is also slated to host the Hockey Wold Cup next year.
