India has displayed an impressive performance at the ongoing World Police and Fire Games at Washington, bagging more than 100 medals, including 63 golds, for the first time in the biennial athletic event. The 50-member Indian contingent has won 111 medals : 63 golds, 31 silver and 17 bronze. With two days still left for the games that began on the 26th of last month, India is expected to cross the 130 mark. Indian contingent has won 31 medals, including 19 golds, in track and field events, 26 in swimming, 18 in shooting, 16 in wrestling, 12 in archery and six in judo. Two medals were won in other categories. This is for the first time that the Indian contingent's medal tally has crossed 100. The previous best was at Belfast, Northern Ireland in 2013 when India won 83 medals.
