Coal Secretary Anil Swarup has said that record coal production by Coal India Limited has led to a reduction in import by over 34 million tonnes. In a tweet, Mr Swarup said, this results in a saving of around 28 thousand crore rupees in foreign exchange during last financial year. He also said, imports of the crucial natural resource came down by 27.4 per cent.
