Record 74.38 percent polling in Rajasthan Assembly elections

Polling has completed by enlarge peacefully for 199 out of 200 Assembly seats in Rajasthan.According to initial information 74.38% votes were polled in the state. In Churu constituency polling was postponed due to death of a BSP candidate. Today fate of 2087 candidates has been registered in Electronic Voting Machines.Counting of votes will take place on 8th December. Ruling Congress and main opposition party BJP are contesting on all seats while BSP is contesting on 195 and CPM on 38 seats.666 candidates of other parties and 758 independent candidates are also in the fray. Prominent candidates in the fray are Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Leader of opposition Vasundhara Raje, Chairperson of National Women’s Commission Mamta Sharma, MP Dr Kirodi Lal Meena and Athlete Krishna Poonia. Elaborate security arrangements were made for free ,fair and fearless polling in the state.
