The Governor of Karnataka H R Bharadwaj defended his action of sending report to Central Government recommending President rule, saying that as a constitutional head he has the responsibility of sending report to the President, Prime Minister and Home Minister every month. Speaking after a function in Raj Bhavan on Monday, he told media persons that he is provided with men and machinery to carry on with the responsibility and it will not do good to the state if he remains quite without reporting the facts to the Central Government. He further pointed out that illegal mining could be stopped in the state due to one of his reports, thereby giving the state an opportunity for introspection. On his relationship with the state Government, he said there is regular interaction with the state Government and as Head of the Constitution in the state he will continue to advice them whenever necessary. He congratulated the state government for completing three years on Monday and wished them to do better in future. On the issue of his recall, the Governor said that he has not come here on his own and will not go back on his own. He reprimanded the media for distorting facts and for lack of sufficient knowledge on the constitutional duties. The erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore, Krishnaraja Wodeyar the fourth was conferred with Doctorate degree posthumously by the Chancellor of Mysore University and Governor H R Bharadwaj on Monday.
