Recession hit Hungary go to polls today

The Hungarians went to the polls today to vote in the first round of parliamentary elections, with the Socialists widely expected to lose power after eight years in office. The centre-right conservative opposition party Fidesz may win a convincing victory because Hungary has been hit hard by world economic recession. The far right Jobbik party which has capitalised on the resurgence of anti-Semitism is also expected to do well.
