Colonel Gaddafi's loyalists are still putting up some resistance in Tripoli, a day after rebels stormed the Libyan leader's compound in the capital Tripoli.A report from Tripoli says, a core of Gaddafi's fighters seems to be entrenched inside and firing at the rebels while loyalists outside are sporadically firing mortars into the compound. The report says, the scale of the resistance is not clear. Heavy gunfire has also been heard in the area around a hotel where a number of foreign journalists have been trapped for several days. Libya's rebels are searching for Col Gaddafi, saying it is vital to catch him to eliminate any chance of his striking back.The rebels say, it is only a matter of time before he is arrested, but they concede that they have no indication where he or his immediate family may have taken refuge.Meanwhile, members of Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) are holding talks today in Qatar with Envoys from Western and Arab Gulf countries. One of the NTC's senior leader Mahmoud Jabriel said they were seeking two and a half billion dollars of immediate aid.The Head of Libyan rebel leadership Council Mustafa Abdel Jalil said, the legislative and the Presidential elections will be held within eight months. He said, the rebels did not want their country to be isolated in the world as it had been under Col. Gaddafi.
