Re-polling in booths in WB, TN, Bihar, Haryana and Nagaland

Re-polling will be held in 5 polling booths in West Bengal today. A spokesman of the State Election Department said in Kolkata last evening that re-poll will be held in these polling booths under Barasat, Basirhat and Joynagar Parliamentary Constituencies where elections were held last Monday.

The opposition parties had demanded re-polling in a number of booths following alleged large scale irregularities during polling on that day.

In Haryana, re-polling will be held today in eight polling booths of the Gurgaon parliamentary constituency. The re-polling will take place in one polling booth each of Sohna and Punhana Assembly segments and three each of Nuh and Ferozepur Jhirka Assembly segments. Repolling in these booths was ordered following complaints of large-scale rigging in the April 10 election.

Re-polling in five polling stations of Vaishali Lok Sabha constituency will also be held in Bihar today. Four of the five polling stations are in the Kanti Assembly segment of the Vaishali Lok Sabha seat, while one is under Baruraj Assembly segment which went into Lok Sabha polls on May 12. Repolling in these booths was ordered following complaints of large-scale irregularities during polling.

The Election Commission has also ordered re-poll in Edappadi Assembly Segment of the Salem Parliamentary Constituency in Tamil Nadu today.

In Nagaland, repolling in five polling stations under Sanis Assembly constituency in Wokha District will also take place today. The constituency went to the polls on April 9.
