Rail Coach Factory (RCF)Kapurthala has developed the country's first air conditioned double decker prototype coach within a record time of eight months. RCF General Manager Pardeep Kumar has disclosed today that double decker prototype coach would be rolled out by the end of March this year for the oscillation trials.<br/><br/>The GM said RCF would start manufacturing the double decker coach after the successful completion of oscillation trails by the RDSO on the selected routes which will be completed within next three months. He congratulated the engineers and RDSO for working in tandem to develop a totally new coach shell design capable of running at a speed of 160 kmph.<br/><br/> According to railway sources, the first double decker train would run on the rail track during this year and Railways propose to introduce these coaches on Yuva Trains.
