Former Director General of Posts and Telegraph (Audit), R.C.Singh, who was the lead auditor to the 2G Spectrum allocation today asserted that government only incurred a loss of two thousand six hundred and forty five crore rupees due to its allocation on first cum first serve basis. Appearing before the Joint Parliamentary Committee, JPC he said the figure calculated by him was the actual loss based on non-revision of entry fee for telecom operators and the figure was part of the draft report.
Talking to reporters, the Chairman of the JPC Mr. P.C. Chako informed that Mr. Singh maintained that the loss due to allocation could not be calculated as auction was neither recommended by TRAI nor contemplated by the Government.
