The Reserve Bank of India, RBI will soon issue new notes of Twenty and Fifty rupees denomination in the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005 and all old notes issued by the Bank will continue to be legal tender.<br/><br/>In a statement, the RBI has said that the 50 rupees bank notes will be without inset letter in both the number panels and bear signature of RBI Governor Dr. Urjit R Patel. <br/><br/>While, the 20 rupees note will be with inset letter 'L' in both the number panels and bear signature of Dr Patel. The year 2016 will be printed on the reverse of both the notes.
