RBI survey: India's export of software services, IT enabled services estimated to have increased by 37% in 2012-13

Reserve Bank of India, RBI, in its survey, has said that India's total export of software services and IT enabled services is estimated to have increased by 37 per cent to around 3.41 lakh crore rupees in 2012-13.A press release issued by the RBI yesterday said exports of computer services accounted for 71.9 per cent and IT Enabled Services /BPO accounted for 28.1 per cent of the total software services exports. The survey said US and Canada continued to remain top destinations for software exports and accounted for 64.1 per cent of the total export during 2012-13. European countries had 20.2 per cent share, of which the UK accounted for 11.4 per cent during 2012-13. For the survey, 6,660 IT companies were contacted, of which 737 companies, including most of the large companies, responded.
