Department of Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg has said that Reserve Bank of India (RBI) decision to maintain status quo on policy interest rate is a welcome move and indicates that the growth will pick up from here onwards. <br/><br/>In a statement, Mr Garg said, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) in its 6th bi-monthly Statement has updated its inflation and real GDP growth projections for this year and for 2018-19. He said, MPC expects growth to accelerate in 2018-19 and inflation to converge back towards its target level in the second half of next fiscal, starting 1st April.<br/>On Wednesday, RBI's rate-setting monetary policy committee had decided to keep the policy repo rate unchanged at 6 percent.
