RBI Deputy Governor, Usha Thorat today urged bankers to work out a special concessional package for the crisis-ridden aviation sector. Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Mrs. Thorat said that banks should frame a policy regarding debt restructuring of airlines. The Indian airline industry is facing mounting debts of staggering 60,000 crore due to the economic downturn. Major carriers like Air India and Jet Airways want to restructure their debts.
