The Reserve Bank of India today deferred the introduction of the base rate system, which will be the new benchmark lending rate for banks, by three months, to July 1. Stating this, RBI Deputy Governor Usha Thorat also said in Mumbai that concerns on the base rate have been sorted out. Earlier, banks were expected to implement the base rate system from April 1.
