Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today said encouragement for Common Services Centres, CSCs, has been among the top priorities of the government to make Digital India a reality. CSC is a platform to provide multiple e-services through single-point. The main purpose of these centres is to provide a physical facility for delivery of e-Services of the Government to the rural and remote locations where availability of computers and Internet is currently negligible or mostly absent. <br/><br/>The Minister inaugurating a workshop on Common Service Centres as GST Suvidha Provider (GSP) in New Delhi, hoped that CSCs will help Govt in rolling out Goods and Services Tax, GST. He also said the Ministry is more committed towards strengthening the participation of small and medium level traders and village level entrepreneur. Mr Prasad said, in future, these CSCs will start e-Law services where para legal volunteers give legal aid to the common people.
