Ravi Shankar Prasad & Harsh Vardhan visit DigiDhan Mela in New Delhi

Minister for Electronics and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Minister for Science and Technology, Dr Harsh Vardhan provide fillip to DigiDhan Mela in New Delhi today. Mr Prasad said, there is lot of enthusiasm among the masses for online transactions. He informed that 10 lakh people have been trained in the last four to five days through common service centres in the digital payment technologies. The objective is to train 1 crore 20 lakh people, mainly shopkeepers and students, by the end of the year. <br/><br/>The motive of DigiDhan Mela was to educate about Digital Payment Literacy and Digital Payment Use among the masses. Mr Harsh Vardhan, who attended the mela on the invitation of Ministry of Electronics and IT assured that his ministry will ensure needed support for making the country become less cash economy.<br/><br/>Mr Harsh Vardhan said, all the banks to be proactive and establish network among other departments to speed up the process. In the Mela, 29 banks displayed their digital technologies and online packages.
