Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is being observed today on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The theme this year is Integration of India. <br/><br/><br/>rime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the nation in paying tributes to the 'Unifier of India' at Patel Statue and later in Parliament.<br/><br/><br/>He will release a commemorative stamp at a programme to be held at India Gate. Mr Modi will also administer Ekta Pledge and flag off 'Unity Run'.<br/><br/>A Digital Film on the life of Sardar Patel will be released at a programme to be organized by the Ministry of Culture at Pragati Maidan. Various activities are being organised across the country. <br/><br/>Government had last year decided to observe Sardar Patel Jayanti Day as Ekta Diwas. This occasion provides an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of the nation to withstand the threats to its unity, integrity and security.<br/><br/> Doordarshan and All India Radio will mount special programmes on the life and works of Sardar Patel using archival material.
