In Arunchal Pradesh, Rashtriya Aarogya Nidhi scheme was launched by the State Health Minister Atum Welly in Itanagar yesterday. The scheme which is under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, provides financial assistance upto 1.5 lakh rupees to BPL patients suffering from life threatening diseases in the form of one time grant. In the event of the treatment cost exceeding Rs 1.5 lakh, the patients can avail the assistance from the Central Rashtriya Aarogya Nidhi scheme. The Central government’s contribution to the scheme for Arunachal Pradesh, will be two crore rupees.
