The CPI(M) today said, there is a rare possibility of a mid term poll in the country. Replying to a question at a press conference in New Delhi, the Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury said, the Congress led UPA government is enjoying full majority in the Lok Sabha at present. Besides, it is also having the outside support from Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party.
Mr. Yechury also demanded that the Sri Lankan government should bring to justice those who were responsible for war crimes against Tamils living there. Mr. Yechury said, the Sri Lankan government should implement the recommendation of a Committee set up by it for providing better and peaceful living conditions. Mr Yechury said, New Delhi should take up this matter with United Nations Human Rights Council at its meeting in Geneva.
The CPIM leader said his party will raise issues like suicidal death cases of the farmers, setting up of the National Counter Terrorism Centres (NCTC) in the current session of Parliament.
