Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh, who had last month announced the gift of a mini-bus for ferrying young football playing tribal girls in Ranchi, is likely to hand over the the keys of the vehicle to the team on September 12.An official told PTI today that the minister is likely to hand over the mini-bus on Thursday.The minister had on August 9 met the players at Ormanjhi on the outskirts of Ranchi after they finished third among ten teams in the Gasteiz U-14 girls football tournament which was hosted in Spain in July this year.Impressed with their penchant for soccer, Mr.Ramesh announced ten lakh rupees from his MPLAD funds to purchase a mini-bus for the promising girls to help them commute to schools and football ground every day.
