Ramadan begins on Thursday in Bangladesh

The Holy month of Ramadan begins tomorrow in Bangladesh as the Ramadan moon was sighted in the country today. The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee chaired by State Minister for Religious Affairs and President of the Committee Advocate Shahjahan Mian at the Islamic Foundation in Dhaka on this evening.In a message issued on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, Bangladesh President Mohammed Zillur Rahman said the holy month of Ramadan is the greatest gift for mankind. This month comes every year with the opportunity of self-rectification and forgiveness. In her message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Ramadan is the month of self-restraint, compassion and forgiveness.
