Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today kicked off Swachhta Pakhwada in his Ministry by sweeping area outside Krishi Bhawan in New Delhi. <br/><br/>The fortnight-long cleanliness drive will continue till the 28th of this month. It aims at creating awareness on the need for sustained maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene. <br/><br/>According to an official release, Mr Paswan also administered the Swachhta pledge to the officials. The Minister appealed to them to wholeheartedly join the countrywide cleanliness drive. <br/><br/>During the Pakhwada, the Department and its associated offices will take up various activities to promote Swachhta, such as improvement in the overall sanitary conditions of the office spaces and public spaces around it, provision of appropriate toilets, drinking water supply and others.
