<br/>Rama Navami, the birth day of Lord Ram is being celebrated throughout the country with full religious fervour and gaiety. Devotees observe fast and perform pujas. In the national capital, various temples have been decorated wtih colourful lights on the occasion. Some temples also perform special services and bhajan sessions throughout the day. <br/><br/>In Hardwar a large number of pilgrims are taking holy dip in river Ganga on the auspicious occasion of Ramnavmi. Tight security has been made in the mela area to avoid any untoward incident on the main sanan of Maha Kumbh. Thousands of people have gathered in Ayodhya to attend the main religious ceremonies.<br/><br/>The President, the Vice President and the Prime Minister today greeted the people on the occasion of Ram Navami. In her message, President Pratibha Devisingh Patil said the occasion of Ram Navami, the birthday of Lord Ram, should be used to spread the message of righteous conduct and selfless service and strengthen our resolve to strive for justice and<br/>human dignity to build a glorious India.<br/><br/>Vice President Hamid Ansari said, we should rededicate ourselves to his enlightened teachings for establishing a peaceful and harmonious society. Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in his message said Ram Navami was an occasion to rededicate ourselves to living virtuously.<br/>
