Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has asked government officials to maximize use of the social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter and disseminate information which is useful for general public. <br/><br/>Addressing a workshop on Effective Use of Facebook for Government Communication in New Delhi today, Mr Rathore said, through social media the government is trying to establish two-way communication with the people. Saying that the idea is to simplify communication and reach out to the masses, the Minister said, it can be helpful to empower and update people. <br/><br/>Mr Rathore said there is a need to recalibrate the way the information is being shared from decision makers and the citizens. He said, using social media to inform and get feedback on Government policies these days are very cost-effective.
