Highlighting about the government's measures regarding action related to climate change, Mr. Siva said that the government has set a zero carbon emission target by 2070. He however said that instead of waiting for 50 years, immediate and urgent measures are required to address the challenges of Climate Change.<br />''<br />''Participating in the discussion, Kavita Patidar of BJP said, it has been the tradition of India to protect and conserve nature and natural resources. She said, Prime Minister has given a mantra of Panchamrit to address the issue of climate change. The five points of mantra include reaching the country's non-fossil energy capacity to 500 Giga Watt by 2030, meeting 50 percent of the country's energy requirements from renewable energy by 2030 and by the year 2070, India will achieve the target of Net Zero. Amee Yagnik of Congress highlighted the ill effect of climate change. She said, due to global warming, India has faced several serious issues and problems.<br />''<br />''S Niranjan Reddy of YSR Congress said, India is vulnerable to climate change. He stressed on the need to create Disaster Resilient Infrastructure to effectively deal with climate change. Dr. John Brittas of CPI(M) said, incentives must be given to States which are making efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change.<br />''<br />'' Vandana Chavan of NCP said, the action must be taken at the local level to address the challenges of climate change. Highlighting the grave challenges of climate change, Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav of Samajwadi Party stressed that cutting of forests must be dealt with strictly. Jawhar Sircar of TMC, Sanjay Singh of AAP, Dr. Keshav Rao of TRS, Aneel Prasad Hegde of JD(U), Amar Patnaik of BJD and others also participated in the discussion.
