Rajya Sabha today witnessed two brief adjournments in its pre-lunch session as Congress members trooped into the well raising slogans against the government. Anand Sharma of the Congress protested that all senior party leaders, who participated in the Loktantra Bachao march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament House, were arrested by police. He said this is murder of democracy. His party colleague Jairam Ramesh wanted to know from the Chair the status of his notice on the financial irregularities committed by the Gujarat Petroleum Corporation when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister. <br/><br/>Chairman Mohmmed Hamid Ansari observed that the member cannot raise such issues during the Question Hour. After this, Congress members raised slogans forcing the adjournment of the House for 15 minutes till 1221 hours. Earlier, Deputy Chairman P J Kurien adjourned the House on the same issue for five minutes during the Zero Hour. Later, the House took up the Question Hour when it re-assembled after its second adjournment.
