Rajya Sabha today witnessed noisy scenes over different issues. When the House met this morning, Leader of the Opposition Malikarjun Kharge, BRS leader K. Keshava Rao and others raised the issue of expunging their remarks during discussion on Motion of Thanks on President's address.
''
''Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed displeasure over disruption in the House and conduct of the members yesterday. He said, it is for the House to decide in which way it wants to function. Mr Dhankhar said, many times he has highlighted the flaws in the adjournment notices given by the opposition leaders. When the Chairman was speaking, some members tried to interrupt him upon which he warned them. When he called Congress leader Malikarjun Kharge to raise their point, the Treasury Bench started sloganeering over the conduct of the Opposition members yesterday during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech. They were countered by sloganeering from the Opposition Bench.
''
''Leader of the House Piyush Goyal said, the Prime Minister was heckled by the protesting members yesterday and they also disrespected the Chair. He demanded that Mr Kharge should tender an apology on behalf of the Opposition. Mr. Kharge objected to Chair's ruling of expunging his remarks claiming that they were not unparliamentary. The Zero Hour was run amid noisy scenes in the House. Later, Congress and other opposition members staged a walk out from the House.
