The Rajya Sabha today witnessed noisy scenes during question hour with several members demanding for restoration of their quota for admission of students into Kendriya Vidyalayas. Some of the members including those from Congress have demanded a discussion on the matter. The Chairman, Mohammed Hamid Ansari, asked the members to give a notice. Replying to supplementaries, the Minister for Human Resource Development, Mr Kapil Sibal said under the provisions of the Right to Education Act, 25 per cent of seats in Kendriya Vidyalayas are reserved for civilians in the neighbourhood. He said the 25 per cent reservation will give more opportunities to the people than the seats recommended by MPs. <br/>
