Rajya Sabha witnesses adjournments over hooch tragedy incident in Bihar, alleges misuse of central agencies and other issues

The Rajya Sabha today witnessed three brief adjournments over the hooch tragedy incident in Bihar, alleged misuse of central agencies, and other issues. When the House met for the day in the morning, Deputy Chairman Harivansh disallowed adjournment notices moved by Aam Aadmi Party, Congress, and Shiv Sena members over alleged misuse of central agencies and other issues. He said the notices have not quoted the relevant rule under which these discussions can be taken up. TMC MP Derek O Brien, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari, and Priyanka Chaturvedi of Shiv Sena objected to it.<br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile, ruling BJP members tried to raise the issue of hooch tragedy in Bihar. Opposition members were also on their feet raising their demands. As noisy scenes continued, the House was adjourned for fifteen minutes. Later, when the House reassembled, a similar scene was witnessed which forced adjournment of the House again for fifteen minutes till 11:50 AM. After it was reassembled at 11.50 AM, NDA members raised slogans over the hooch tragedy incident in Bihar which was countered by slogans from the members of Congress, RJD, and others. BJP MP Biplab Deb said the matter should be discussed in the House. As pandemonium continued, the chair adjourned the House till 12 noon.
