Rajya Sabha to take up discussion on Kashmir issue tomorrow

The Rajya Sabha will take up a discussion on Kashmir issue at 11 am tomorrow. The assurance was given by Home Minister Rajnath Singh in the House this morning. The House witnessed noisy scenes during the Zero Hour with the Opposition demanding a discussion today at 2 PM.<br/><br/>Raising the issue, Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed serious concern over violent incidents in the valley resulting in the death of civilians and security personnel. <br/><br/>He reiterated his party's demand for holding an all-party meeting followed by an all-party delegation to Srinagar to take stock of the situation. Mr Azad insisted that the discussion should be held at 2 PM today. He was supported by leaders of several other opposition parties. <br/><br/>Quoting relevant rules, opposition members insisted for a discussion today only. However, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told the agitating members that Home Minister Rajnath Singh will make himself available for the discussion at 2 PM tomorrow. This was also objected too by the Opposition members. Later, Mr Azad suggested that the House should take up discussion at 11 A M tomorrow.
